The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has assured that the found Disability Bill document, which was hitherto missing, would be passed into law on or before March 2018, INN reports.
According to the message shared on Facebook by Mr Eric Ndubuaeze Ufom, who is a staunch member of Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities International (ERPDI), the Disability Bill is on verge of becoming law.
Ufom took to his Facebook page to break the news about the Senate’s decision to pass the Disability bill into law.
Unable to hide his excitement he say, “Today, February 28, 2018, which is Black History Month Celebration, Nigerians with Disability Rights Bill was found and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Promised the Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, members of our Nigerians with Disability Caucus (NDC) and one Session Ad Hoc Committee for the Nigerians with Disability Rights Bill, that the Nigerians Senate will pass the Bill into law, with an essential, Independent, Implementation, Commission, before the end of March, 2018”
Elated Ufom took time to thank and appreciate notable individuals and groups who have in one way or the other make sacrifice towards the Disability bill. He says “thanks to Kpakpando Foundation, the Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, Chairman Board of Directors and Mrs. Patricia Ovuoke Oseh, Executive Director for answering to several official multiple requests, made directly by Nigerian Americans with Disabilities Living in the Diaspora and Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities International, Inc, and organized this very successful High-Level Diplomatic Meeting, held on February 28, 2018, at the Nigerian Senate Office, National Assembly Abuja, Nigeria”.
He didn’t stop at it as he heaped praises on ERPDI for their role in the struggle for the Disability bill, “Thanks to Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities International, Inc, Representatives, led by Mrs. Ngozi Pauline Ikebuaku and Omotunde Ellen Thompson, who represented us at that High-Level diplomatic Meeting with the Nigerians Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Ufom said this was the first huge success and win for all of them because forming the Nigerians with Disability Caucus (NDC) and Ad Hoc Committee for the Nigerians with Disabilities Rights Bill sent out a very clear message about how huge success would continue to be achieved.
He Thanked God that some people who refused to recognize and Join the Multi Stakeholders of Nigerian with Disability Caucus (NDC) and One Session Ad Hoc Committee for the Nigerians with Disability Rights Bill and who did not know how that High-Level Meeting was organized attend and enjoyed it.
“I thank God that today they have seen what Peace and Unity and doing things the right ways could achieve under the CRPD Article 4.3, Multi Stakeholders of Nigerian with Disability Caucus (NDC) and One Session Ad Hoc Committee for the Nigerians with Disability Rights Bill”, he said with equal excitement.
