PWDs Congratulate Ayuba Burki Gufwan On Appointment As The New Executive Secretary, NCPWD

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria have congratulated Mr. Ayuba Burki Gufwan on his appointment as the new Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).

INN reports that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, yesterday announced the appointment of Mr. Ayuba Burki Gufwan as the new Executive Secretary, NCPWD, among seven Nigerians to head strategic agencies and programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

The president in a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said the appointment is necessary to facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes.

Ms. Yvonne Pam Jack, the president of the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Africa Network (SCIAAN) on Tuesday, praises Gufwan on his well-deserved appointment and recognizes the vital role he will play in serving humanity within the disabled community.

Jack said, “Your dedication inspires us all, and we are proud to stand with you during this important chapter in your career.

“Your exemplary work at the Beautiful Gate Handicapped Centre has not gone unnoticed, and it is a true confirmation to your adherence to providing solutions for the disabled community. We are excited to see how your leadership will continue to elevate the voices and needs of individuals with disabilities in Nigeria and beyond.

‘As you take on this significant responsibility, we pray that God guides you in your duties, granting you the wisdom and strength to exceed expectations and make a lasting impact.”

Dr. Chike Okogwu, Founder and Chief Responsibility Officer (CRO) of the Center For Ability Rehabilitation And Empowerment (C.A.R.E.), has also congratulated Ayuba Gufwan.

In a statement released on Tuesday shortly after receiving the news of his appointment, Okogwu said, Gufwan’s appointment is a milestone that marks a new chapter in his journey, and the organisation is thrilled to see him take the reins.

“As you assume this critical role, we acknowledge the remarkable work of your predecessor, Dr. James Lalu. His dedication and tireless efforts have laid a solid foundation for the commission’s mission to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
