Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of People with Disabilities (PWDs) by unveiling a state-of-the-art therapy centre for children with special needs.
The facility, built in collaboration with Premium Trust Bank, offers multi-sensory therapy and specialized care to help children with disabilities achieve their potential.
The governor emphasized his administration’s dedication to social inclusion, employing experts such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists in public special schools to enhance service delivery.
Oyebanji also donated a bus to the centre to facilitate transportation for the children and expressed his hope for their integration into mainstream society as independent, contributing adults.
Speaking at the event, Premium Trust Bank CEO Emmanuel Emefienim lauded the initiative, describing it as a compassionate response to the needs of children with disabilities. He praised Oyebanji’s leadership and commitment to fostering partnerships for social impact.
Special Adviser Adetoun Agboola highlighted the centre’s goal of supporting children at risk of dropping out of school due to critical disabilities, ensuring they receive the care needed to thrive.
