Hon. Olanrewaju Oladosu, Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Disability Matters, has taken a significant step towards supporting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by donating a wheelchair and financial aid to children with disabilities under the Imole Educational Scholarship Support Programme.
During the donation ceremony, Hon. Sunday Adeniran, Chairman of the Osun State Special Assistant Forum, praised the act, describing it as a meaningful contribution. He also applauded the governor’s administration for its commitment to ensuring that PWDs have a voice and a place in his government. Adeniran added that Governor Adeleke’s focus on PWDs within his first two years is both unprecedented and encouraging.
Hon. Adeniran further expressed gratitude to Hon. Oladosu for his generosity, noting that the wheelchair and ₦275,000 gift would significantly improve the children’s lives.
Hon. Jelili Aderibigbe, Coordinator of the Special Assistant Forum in Ede Federal Constituency, also praised Hon. Oladosu for his selfless dedication to making a difference in the lives of PWDs. According to Aderibigbe, Oladosu’s actions show that he is well-suited for his position.
In his welcome speech, Hon. Oladosu thanked Governor Adeleke, Chief of Staff Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, and Hon. Bamidele Salam for their roles in helping him realize his political ambitions.
He also highlighted the administration’s major accomplishments for PWDs, including the Imole Educational Scholarship Scheme, the Imole Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme, and the Imole Agro-Ability initiative, which has provided agricultural resources such as 2,000 day-old chickens, piglets, and cashew seedlings to PWDs.
