Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has flagged off the distribution of palliatives to residents with a promise to be transparent in the distribution, not to leave behind Persons with Disabilities.
The Governor, who stated this shortly before the symbolic presentation of the palliative, commended the Federal Government for its genuine concern in alleviating poverty in Nigeria, by conceptualization the Initiative.
The Committee on palliatives distribution were inaugurated headed by the Deputy Governor Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Civil Society group, religious leaders and leaders of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) in Ogun State.
The Governor assured that no fewer than 300, 000 bags of 50 Kilograms of repackaged rice will be distributed across all Polling Units of the State, while proper arrangement has been made to give Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) their own share during the exercise.
The beneficiaries appreciated the Federal government for the gesture and urged Ogun State Government to fully include leaders of PWDs in all 20 local governments of the state to be part of sub-committee mandated to hit the ground running within the next one week.
