NNAD President Extols BSAD Leadership As Bauchi Deaf Community Gets New Emir

It was an ecstatic period penultimate Saturday for the entire members of Deaf community of Bauchi state following the decision of the Bauchi State Emirate Council under the able guidance of HRH Alh(Dr) Rilwan Suleiman Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, to approve the immediate turbaning of Mal. Adamu Bala as the new Emir of Deaf Bauchi.

INN reports that until Mal. Adamu’s elevation to such coveted position of leadership, the new monarch was a former chairman of Bauchi state Association of the Deaf (BSAD), one time former National Financial Secretary of NNAD, former chairman of Join National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Bauchi State Chapter and currently serving as a classroom teacher of the Deaf under Bauchi state Ministry of Education.

The turbaning ceremony which witnessed the physical presence of who is who within the ranks and planks of Bauchi Emirate Council including the Nigerian National Association of the Deaf (NNAD), some prominent elders and leaders of various clusters of Persons with Disabilities, took place in the palace of the Emir of Bauchi HRH Alh (Dr) Rilwan Suleiman Adamu on Saturday at precisely 11:30am.

The Bauchi top monarch immediately congratulated the new chief of the Deaf on his Turbaning ceremony and enjoined him to fear Allah and discharge his duties with dignity and diligence.

He also admonished him to always listen to the problems of his people and be fair and just without prejudice.

His Royal Highness has finally invoked Allah’s blessings to him and his community.

In his congratulatory messages to especially the new Emir in particular, and the entire members of Bauchi state Deaf community at large, the NNAD president, Dr. Chidi Topaz Olujie, represented by the National chairman of Unity Peace and Progressive Team (UPP-T) Mal. Yusuf Mohammed Lawan extolled the good virtues of the leaders of Bauchi state Association of the Deaf (BSAD) under the able chairmanship of Suleiman Ahmed, urging the BSAD leaders not to relent in providing purposeful leadership to the members of BSAD, noting that the successful coronation of the new Emir of the Deaf Bauchi was a magnificent achievement on the part of BSAD leadership which all of us at NNAD heaquarters must be proud of.

Olujie said, “I remember sometime ago you put in your best efforts to secure a permanent office for BSAD, this is the same commitment we have always exhibit at the NNAD headquarters, in pursuit of any cause we collectively believe will add values to our people.

“I have confidence that with the new Emir in your ranks, you would exhibit such leadership qualities, and much more, as you have demonstrated in the few years of your administration.” he said.
