At the close-out event held by the Rule of Law and Anti- Corruption (RoLAC) programme in Abuja, today 7th March, 2023, the Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu commended the entire team of RoLAC for the milestone achieved in the pursuit of Justice especially for the most vulnerable in the society.
During his goodwill message earlier at the event, the Executive Secretary underpinned that Persons With Disabilities have been the most vulnerable and have had limited access to justice over the years.
“Some members of the PWD community have experienced abuses that are so dehumanizing without any substantive law protecting them in Nigeria until the 2018 prohibition law was enacted,” he asserted.
He equally informed that the Commission has taken measures to forestall the occurrence through partnership with the Legal Aid Council and the Ministry of Justice.

Ambassador to the delegation of the European Union, Samuela Isopi expressed satisfaction at the programme coordination and implementation as organized by team RoLAC.
She also reiterated the commitment of the European Union and promised to work closely with the British Council to further strengthen the Rule of Law and fight corruption in Nigeria.
