The Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Ayuba Gufwan, has congratulated Tolu Bankole on his appointment as Chairman of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the commission described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Hon. Bankole’s unwavering dedication to public service, his influential leadership within the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his consistent advocacy for the empowerment and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria. It further highlighted that the decision reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusivity and the promotion of equal opportunities for all Nigerians.
“We are deeply grateful to Mr. President for appointing a distinguished member of the disability community to such a significant role, demonstrating the importance of representation in leadership,” the statement read. “We also seize this opportunity to humbly call for more appointments of qualified PWDs across various sectors, ensuring that their voices and contributions play a central role in shaping the nation’s development.”
The commission reaffirmed its full support for Hon. Bankole, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in his new role and contribute to the advancement of inclusive healthcare. “We pledge our unwavering support and collaboration as he embarks on this journey of impactful service,” it added.
