Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his appointment as Director, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Mobilisation for the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Abba Isa, in a statement reacting to the appointment, described the responsibility as a great honour and a call to service, pledging to mobilise and coordinate persons with disabilities across the country in support of the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He thanked President Tinubu for finding him worthy of the national assignment and expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for the confidence reposed in him.
According to him, the appointment should not be viewed merely as a personal recognition, but as an acknowledgement of the capacity, aspirations and importance of millions of Nigerians with disabilities who deserve meaningful representation and active participation in the country’s political process.
Abba Isa also commended the Tinubu administration for what he described as its commitment to inclusion, empowerment and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the appointment further demonstrated that persons with disabilities were not only stakeholders in Nigeria’s democracy but could also occupy strategic positions and contribute to shaping the political direction of the country.
Accepting the assignment with humility and a strong sense of duty, Abba Isa pledged to deploy his experience, networks and longstanding commitment to disability inclusion to strengthen engagement among persons with disabilities and other stakeholders across the country.
“Our task is clear: to build bridges, strengthen grassroots engagement and ensure that persons with disabilities are meaningfully mobilised and actively participate in the democratic process,” he said.
He stressed that political participation of persons with disabilities must go beyond their recognition as voters, advocating greater opportunities for them to organise, contribute and occupy their rightful place in the political affairs of Nigeria.
The APC PWDs Mobilisation Director pledged his loyalty and commitment to the success of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, while assuring the party leadership and the disability community that he would work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him.
He also thanked colleagues, friends, associates and members of the disability community who had congratulated him on the appointment, describing their support as a source of encouragement.
Abba Isa called for collective efforts towards strengthening political inclusion and expanding the participation of persons with disabilities, saying the disability community has an important role to play in the democratic process and the success of the 2027 campaign.
He concluded by expressing his gratitude to President Tinubu and the APC for the confidence placed in him and pledged to contribute his quota to the Renewed Hope Agenda and the 2027 presidential campaign.
