MBDGN to hold 2nd edition in May, calls for support to participate in Miss Deaf World event

by Inclusive News Network

When people hear about the Deaf, they automatically pick up an image of a haggard-looking person probably begging at the roadside.

This is why a lot of Deaf people get doubted out there. Because they are looking good and not fitting into that picture.

“How can you be Deaf” they Will ask

Newsflash !!!

Deaf people are normal people who just lost the ability to hear either from birth or later in life.

They do not lose the ability to do or be anything. They only lost the ability to hear spoken words.

They do not lose their good looks and intelligence along with their hearing.

Do you know that besides the *Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageantry

you know, there is also the Most Beautiful Deaf Girl in Nigeria (MBDGN) pageantry?

Beautiful and talented Queen Maria Okese contested and won the first-ever Miss Deaf Nigeria Beauty Pageant?

Though an orphan, Queen Maria is building an inclusive world for Deaf children , Deaf Women & girls and Deaf Boys in Nigeria.

On May 22 – 29th, 2022, she will be crowning another Deaf Queen in Portharcourt, Nigeria. Who will become the 2nd Miss Deaf Nigeria 2022

This will make it exaltly 22nd year since Miss Deaf World has been going on around the world but Nigeria has never participated.

This is just one of the many ways Deaf people are forgotten in Nigeria.
