The disability community in Taraba State has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Taraba State chapter, Sadiq Mohammed Jalingo.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, Jalingo passed away, marking the end of a notable chapter in the disability rights movement in Taraba State. During his years of service, he was widely recognized for his commitment to advancing the rights, welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
His death has been described as a significant loss to the disability community, with tributes pouring in from advocates, colleagues, friends and associates. Many remembered him as a dedicated leader, mentor and passionate advocate whose efforts contributed to strengthening disability rights advocacy and promoting greater inclusion across the state.
A statement received by Inclusive News Network, confirmed that funeral prayers (Jana’iza) for the late former chairman will take place on Friday, while the venue and time will be communicated later. Family members, associates and members of the disability community have prayed for Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
