The Executive Director of FAECARE Foundation, Ndifreke Andrew-Essien in her opening remarks stated the importance of continuing to improve on basic skills as well as learning other skills in a sector/industry of choice.

She encouraged the women to remain focused in what they do and avoid easy distractions that come in the form of hand-outs that do not last.

She reminded them that though this was just a short course, it was important for the women to take the basics learnt and build on it by practice and creativity.

She ended her session by asking the ladies to begin to think on what they would do with the new skill they learnt.

The short course had Kapa trainer, Ibiso Edwards leading the participants in theory and practical sessions on the business of fabric design.

It was interesting highlight of the training was seeing the designs of these groups of Women with different Disabilities come to life.

At the end of the 3-day program the women shared their action plans for the skills learnt and how they intended to incorporate it into their fashion business.

As support, FAECARE Foundation gave the top three participants at the traing start up kits to produce their own fabrics. Also, the top student received a boost on her social media fashion page.

The Foundation said it will continue to empower Persons with Disabilities in the State.
