Plateau state Governor Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong has assented the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission Amendment Bill into Law on 9th August, 2017, giving Persons with Disability a voice.
According to a facebook post made by the Plateau state Disability Rights Commission, Chairman, James Lalu, the bill assented will provide the first Disability Inclusive electoral system in Nigeria .
Persons with Disability is to be represented at the decision making level, Disability Unit and braille ballot.
Interpreters at polling unit were also provided by the Governor.
