First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has awarded the Nigerian Paralympians contingent to the 2024 Paralympic Games following their impressive performance in Paris.
Tinubu gifts Paralympian gold medalists N32 million.
The team secured a total of seven medals and was led on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa by the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh.
Tinubu who is the Grand Patron of African Paralympic Sports, gifted gold medalist -$20,000, silver medalist -$10,000, and bronze medalist -$5000.
The First Lady lauded the athletes for their dedication, resilience, and extraordinary achievements, emphasizing that their success at the Paralympic Games epitomises perseverance, dedication, and the highest standard of sportsmanship.

“I want to especially acknowledge Folashade Oluwafemiayo and Onyinyechi Mark, who both won gold in Para-powerlifting. Folashade’s incredible lift of 167kg not only broke her world record but also established her as a two-time Paralympic champion. You have raised the bar for para-athletes worldwide, and your victory stands as a beacon of hope for millions of Nigerians,” she said.

We all rejoice with them. But ma. Her Excellency. I think the Federal Government and state government should focus on parasports more than anyone else. We have been making the country proud in terms of this para sports in the country.
