Ekiti: SSA On Disability Matters Congratulates Governor-elect Biodun Oyebanji

Mr Tunde Ogunrinde, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Disability Matters to the Governor of Ekiti State, has congratulated governor-elect, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election in Ekiti State. Oyebanji won with landslide victory which outnumbered the combined total of his two major opponents – breaking the succession jinx.

INN reports that Oyebanji, the All Progressive Congress flag bearer emerged victorious with 187,057 votes to defeat his closest Social Democratic Party (SDP) rival who garnered 82,211 votes. The People’s Democratic Party which came third polled 67,457 votes. Besides these, 13 other parties also participated in Saturday’s governorship election.

Ogunrinde noted that the win for APC marks the first time the party in power will succeed itself in the history of Ekiti State.

“This is good for the people of Ekiti State – especially Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) since it will ensure continuity. It will also sustain Ekiti State Development Plan.

Mr Ogunrinde used the opportunity to specifically commend the efforts of Governor kayode Fayemi, his wife Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, leaders of the party and all PWDs in Ekiti State for their support and contributions towards Oyebanji’s victory.
