Delta State First Lady, Tobore Oborevwori, has concluded the You Matter Charity Foundation’s free medical outreach programme for children living with autism and other special needs across the state.
Oborevwori disclosed this after the foundation held the grand finale of the outreach for beneficiaries in the Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency, marking the completion of the programme’s visits to the three senatorial districts and 10 Federal Constituencies in Delta State.
According to her, the nearly 10-month outreach enabled the You Matter Charity Foundation to provide free medical care, medications and other essential healthcare support to more than 2,000 children, alongside their caregivers and a significant number of elderly beneficiaries.
She added that the foundation also distributed 360 wheelchairs, physiotherapy toys and assistive learning devices, including electronic smart boards and Android tablets, while food and financial assistance were provided to beneficiaries with additional needs.
The First Lady expressed appreciation to her husband and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the chairmen and chairpersons of the 25 Local Government Areas, the state Ministry of Health, medical teams, partners and others who supported the initiative.
Oborevwori acknowledged that the outreach could not address every challenge faced by children with disabilities and their families, but said it demonstrated that meaningful support could be provided to improve their wellbeing. She reaffirmed her commitment to standing with children, their families and others in need of support.
