The Tech Inclusion for the Deaf Initiative (TIDI) is partnering with the Nasarawa State Disability Rights Commission (NSDRC) to deliver computer training and mentorship to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), aimed at enhancing their employability and economic inclusion.
TIDI CEO, Victor Oricha, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the NSDRC Executive Chairman, Mr. Saleh Barde Keana, in Lafia. He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for appointing a person with a disability to lead the commission.
Mr. Keana expressed appreciation for the initiative, affirming that it aligns with the commission’s mandate. He emphasized technology as a critical tool for inclusion and empowerment, and revealed plans to jointly develop a structured training programme covering curriculum design, beneficiary selection, and resource provision.
The partnership is expected to significantly improve the socio-economic wellbeing of PWDs across the state.
