CODA Nigeria Commends NNAD On 50th Anniversary

The Children of Deaf Adult (CODA) Nigeria has felicitated with the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf, NNAD headquarters on its 50th anniversary.

In a congratulatory message to NNAD, Mr Adelu Adeoniye, financial secretary of CODA Nigeria said: “We are happy to be here representing CODA Nigeria in the presence of our parents. It is an honour”.

“Firstly, CODA Nigeria would like to thank NNAD for the opportunity to be here to witness this 50th anniversary. We celebrate with NNAD on this occasion. Of course we know it’s a huge one and we congratulate you all.

“Our goal is to publicly support our parents and also build a community for the Children of Deaf Adults. CODA Nigeria remain the Deaf Community’s first partner. We are doing our best to support the Deaf community, and will continue to do so”, he added

CODA Nigeria, according to Adeoniye, is still growing and would like to appeal that NNAD continues to partner with us to make the Deaf Community grow and wax stronger.

He went on to appeal to others children of deaf adults for more collaborations. His words: “We want other children of deaf adults to join the association. It is an association involving enlightenment and advocacy for our deaf parents. To support, guide and represent them in every areas”.

“CODA, as an association, wants to grow strong and come out to push policies for the betterment of our Deaf Parents”, he added.

INN had earlier reported on NNAD’s golden jubilee celebrations during which the Association’s achievements since inception 50 years ago were rehashed.
