As part of Centre Citizens with Disability’s efforts to secure the assent of the President to the Nigeria Disability Bill, its founder and president, Mr David Anyeale meets with the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation,Mr Abubakar Malami in Abuja, INN reports.
Mr Anyeale shared this information on his facebook handle which was obtained by INN correspondence.
According to Anyeale, he said that it was a privilege to have led the CCD advocacy team to meet with Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Anyeale further disclosed that he and his team used the opportunity to present CCD’s Policy Brief in support for urgent assent to the Nigeria Disability Bill, INN learnt.
In his remark, the Justice Minister acknowledged the courtesy visit of the CCD group. According to him, he said “I wish to state before you this evening that justice will be done for persons with disabilities. I do not see the bill having any problem, particularly as it relates to assent”
Elated Anyeale, while thanking the Ministry for receiving them said, “I want to register my sincere appreciation and commitment of the Federal Ministry of Justice to Work with Centre for Citizens with Disabilities and SSA to the President on Disability Matters in terms of having at the end of the day a bill that will stand the test of time in terms of provision for the welfare of persons with disabilities”
CCD hopes that the meeting would bring out positive response concerning the disability bill.
