Breaking: Gov Umo Eno Appoints Nnene Bassey SA on Persons With Disabilities

Akwa Ibom State, Governor Umo Eno has appointed a person with Disability, Ms. Nnene Bassey as Special Assistant to the Governor on Persons with Disabilities.

News of her appointment was received by Inclusive News Network in a press statement signed by Ekerete Udoh Chief press secretary to the Governor on Monday, 12 February, 2024.

Ms. Nnene Bassey

INN reports that the appointment is in fulfilment of the governor’s campaign promise to bring governance closer to the people across all layers of the society, especially persons with disabilities.

Bassey’s appointment is said to be with immediate effect.

Ms. Nnene Bassey is a person with Albinism. She is a disability rights advocate, President, Advocacy for Persons with Albinism Network and a leader in Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Akwa Ibom State chapter
