Sequel to the earlier promises made by Gombe state government under the administration of governor Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to carry along persons with Disabilities in his government, and the governor’s drive towards running an inclusive administration devoid of all forms of discrimination.
A Bill to provide for the establishment of Gombe State Disability Protection Law and the establishment of Gombe State Disability Rights Commission and other matters related thereto 2024 has today passed its first and second readings on the floor of Gombe State House of Assembly.
The Bill is committed to the House Committee on Women Affairs and Special Duties. The House has alloted the committee six weeks mandate to scrutinize and report back to the House for proper passage into Law.
The Bill was sponsored by Hon. Shuaibu Adamu Haruna, member representing Kwami East Constituency along with Hon. Musa Buba (Balanga North), Hon. Nasiru Abdulkarim (Dukku North) and Adamu Sale Pata (Yamaltu East) as co-sponsors.
