by Inclusive News Network

The Lagos State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) has called for a strategic partnership with the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) aimed at significantly improving special education services for students with disabilities across the state.

Mr. Okanlawon Adesola Babajide, the Executive Chairman of NASET, emphasized the importance of this collaboration during a courtesy visit to the LASODA office.

Leading a delegation of special education professionals, Babajide underscored the pressing challenges faced by both special educators and students with disabilities, including inadequate resources and training.

He highlighted the need for a stronger support system, proposing innovative solutions that could elevate the quality of education for individuals with disabilities. The discussion between the two organizations centered around key areas of collaboration, such as teacher training, specialized learning resources, and policy reforms, which are essential to creating a more inclusive educational environment in Lagos.

INN reports that the partnership, when fully implemented, is expected to not only enhance the skills of special education teachers but also significantly improve learning outcomes for students with disabilities, helping them reach their full potential.
