The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to disability inclusion by providing cash assistance and food items to hundreds of persons with disabilities (PWDs) drawn from various disability clusters across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and surrounding areas.
The distribution exercise took place at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where beneficiaries from groups including persons with visual impairments, hearing impairments and other disability communities received support aimed at easing current economic challenges.
Speaking on behalf of the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, the Principal Private Secretary, Jibrin Kamga Bancir, welcomed beneficiaries and conveyed the chairman’s appreciation and solidarity. He said the intervention reflects the party’s commitment to ensuring that persons with disabilities benefit from their membership in the APC and from the policies of the APC-led administration.
According to Bancir, the party leadership is supporting efforts led by the APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, Tolu Bankole, to expand assistance and opportunities for PWDs across the country. He urged beneficiaries to remain supportive of the party and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his remarks, Bankole expressed gratitude to the APC National Chairman for his support of disability inclusion initiatives. He said the distribution of cash and food items demonstrates the party’s commitment to improving the welfare of persons with disabilities and promoting their participation within the APC.
Beneficiaries commended the party for the intervention, describing the support as timely amid prevailing economic difficulties. Many noted that the assistance would help cushion the impact of rising living costs on persons with disabilities and their families.
The APC said it remains committed to advancing the welfare of persons with disabilities under the Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to continue programmes focused on empowerment, representation and improved access to opportunities for PWDs nationwide.
