Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has been eulogized for showing capacity and desire for Abia State where it’s citizenry are empowered to maximize potentials by reason of being Abians to foster an all inclusive, prosperous and free environment devoid of discriminatory practices.

David Anyaele, Chairman of Abia State Commission for the Welfare of Disabled Persons made the remarks shortly after the screening and confirmation by the Abia State House of Assembly, Tuesday.

The disability activist hinted that the coming on board of the specialized Commission will ensure the removal of attitudinal, environmental and institutional barriers that hinder Abians with disability from participating in society on equal basis.

Anyaele further stated that the Commission shall support Government to ensure Ministries, Departments and Agencies’ activities and programmes are inclusive of all, thanking Governor Otti for breaking the barrier of discrimination of persons with disabilities via the establishment of the Welfare of Disabled Persons Commission.

Other Members of the Welfare of Disabled Persons Commission cleared by the Abia State House of Assembly include Stanley Onyebuchi, Emenike Amakwe, Chinenye Ogboso and Ijeoma Harriet Okonkwo.
