The Chairman, Ado Central Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Engr. Toyin Ojo has awarded monthly stipends to thirty selected PWDs across wards under his jurisdiction.
Speaking during the cash empowerment on Friday, 21 June, the chairman advised enterprising beneficiaries to multiply resources to become large business owners.
Engr. Toyin further urged them to keep up being hopeful to be great like other great PWDs like former President Franklin Roosevelt of United States of America (USA) who despite living with a disability ruled the country successfully.
He said, “I felt within me that I should reach out to PWDs in my LCDA and I worked with the Association to get the data and glory be to God we were able to reach the most needy.
“We are going to be paying the stipend for three years” he added.
The Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion Princess Agboola Adetoun represented by the Director, Ekiti State Office of Disability Affairs, Mr. Toye Ojo appreciated Engr. Toyin Ojo for his show of love and support towards persons with disabilities in his LCDA.
He said “Engr. Toyin is following the path Governor Biodun Oyebanji has created in making life comfortable for persons with disabilities in Ekiti State.
Mr. Bakinde Olaosebikan, the chairman of the National Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities (NAPWPD), Ekiti State chapter, Mr. Oni Femi the General Secretary, Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) Ekiti State chapter and other invited guests also gave their goodwill messages commending Engr. Toyin Ojo for the good initiatives.
