The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa and the Executive Secretary of National Commission for Persons With Disabilities (NCPWD) Mr James David Lalu, have agreed to collaborate in order to advance the needs and welfare of the PWDs in the country.
This was disclosed when the Presidential aide paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Executive Secretary, NCPWD on Wednesday in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, Hon Abba Isa noted that the essence of the visit was to introduce himself to the Executive Secretary and to seek possible areas of collaboration and partnership with the Commission.
Abba Isa emphasized on the importance of synergy and partnership among agencies and stakeholders in the Disability Community as essential tool to realizing the Agenda of Mr President for an inclusive society in line with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He submitted that the mandate of his office is to complement the efforts of the Executive Secretary of NCPWD, maintained that mutual cooperation between the two institutions is sacrosanct as no man can work alone and succeed.
The Executive Secretary of the NCPWD, Mr James Lalu welcomed the Presidential aide and his team with open arms and congratulated him on his recent appointment as SSA to the president by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He stressed that it was a well deserved appointment.
Mr. Lalu said the collaboration between the two institutions is non-negotiable, assuring that his office is open to render every assistance possible to help his guest succeed and achieve the mandate of his office.
He also promised a smooth working relationship between the two institutions, assuring Abba Isa that he can always count on his support and assurance.
