Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Afam Osigwe, has charged the Nigerian Bar Association to be ‘more involved in creating an enabling environment for vulnerable people in the society.
The one-time NBA General Secretary who gave the charge as part of a goodwill message marking the maiden conference of the NBA Lawyers With Disability Forum, expected to take place tomorrow, at Abuja, with the theme: “Lawyers with Disabilities in Nigeria: Realities, Challenges, and Expectations”; also used the occasion to felicitate the leadership and governing council of the forum.
Osigwe also used the occasion to felicitate the leadership and governing council of the forum.
I warmly and heartily felicitate with the Chairman, Asia Ahmad El-Rufai, members of the Governing Council, and the members of the NBA Lawyers with Disability Forum on this very special occasion of hosting your maiden conference with the theme- Lawyers with Disabilities in Nigeria: Realities, Challenges, and Expectations.
The theme of the conference is very apt as the time has come when this nation and the Bar, in particular, should be more involved in creating an enabling environment for vulnerable people including persons living with disabilities in Nigeria.
Once again, I congratulate the Chairman, Asia Ahmad El-Rufai, Governing Council, and members of the NBA Lawyers with Disability Forum for this maiden conference 2022.
