The Joint Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Akwa Ibom State chapter has endorsed Pastor Umo Eno as choice gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 Governorship election.
The official endorsement which took place at the Women Development Centre on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 attracted a large gathering of Persons with disabilities in Akwa Ibom State.
Present at the event was wife of the State Governor, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel. She appreciated the group for their support and prayers all through her husband’s tenure.
Dr. Martha stated that she has always been passionate about Persons with Disabilities and this has led to her constantly reaching out to support them in their different clusters for improved wellbeing.
The incumbent First Lady also used the opportunity to introduce the wife of the guber-candidate, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. She solicited the group’s full support for the potential First Lady – saying she will continue to ensure their inclusion in the affairs of the State.

The wife of the candidate, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno in her remarks thanked the group for their support and goodwill messages. She further appealed for full support, promising that with God on her side she will continue in the footsteps of Dr. Martha.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Ini Adiakpan in her opening address assured the incoming administration of their unwavering support.
She stressed that People with Disabilities are ready with their voters card to vote Pastor Umo Eno into office come March 18.
In their separate remarks, President of the community of PWDs, Comrade Anietie Jackson, Head of Albinism cluster – Mrs, Nnene Bassey, Head of Deaf cluster – Mr David Polycarp, Head of IDEAs – Obongemem Timothy, Head of physically Challenged cluster and head of Blind cluster – Mr. Ubong Ben, pledged to vote massively for the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate during the 2023 governorship elections.
They used the medium to appreciate the State Governor – Dr Udom Emmanuel for always providing resources to celebrate their day and empower them for better living standards.
The group cluster heads noted that JONAPWD members across the State have their Permanent Voters Card and will overwhelmingly vote for Pastor Umo Eno and PDP Candidates at all levels.
