The Federal Government of Nigeria has appointed the Executive Director, Centre for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) and Convener, Coalition of Disability Organizations (CODO) Mr. David O. Anyaele as a member “Nigeria Agenda 2050” Technical Working Group (TWG).
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Program Assistant, Centre for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) Comrd. Musa M. Musa.
Musa said the Technical Working Group has a mandate to develop a long-term Development Plan tagged ‘Nigeria Agenda 2050’ and a medium-term National Development Plan (2021-2025) which are both meant to replace the current Nigeria Vision 20:2020 and the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP 2017-2020). The Nigeria Vision 20:2020 will lapse in December, 2020.
He said Anyaele received his letter of appointment as a Member of Technical Working Group (TWG) for the Preparation of Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) 2021 -2025 and Nigeria Agenda 2050 signed by the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Prince Clem Ikanade Agba dated 5th June, 2020.
According to the letter, Anyaele would be working on the thematic areas “Cross Cutting Issue (Employment, Gender and People with Special Needs) for the Plans.
At the inauguration of the TWG, Agba said that the Plans are to address development challenges in all aspect of the country’s national life with the agreed time frame.
The Minister further added that the aim of this all inclusive approach is to have a true National Development Plan where we use our diversity as our strength in the development of our economy.
It would be recalled that Mr. Anyaele, as the Convener, Coalition of Disability Organizations (CODO) led CSOs campaign for the passage of the National Disability Act in 2019.
