Tears Of Joy As DINABI Extends Palliative Distribution To Ikole LG

Tears of joy flowed freely from beneficiaries as a Non Governmental Organisation operating in Ekiti State, Disability Not A Barrier Initiative (DINABI), extended the distribution of relief materials to Ikole Local government in the state.

Executive Director of DINABI, Engr Olajide Funso in a chat with INN said that Ikole is one of the largest local government in Ekiti state with about 25 towns and villages, most of which are rural dwellers and sadly have not been receiving support as they should.

“Most activities by various organizations have tilted towards the urban areas and state capitals but we felt the bulk of the Disability Food Support should be for the poorest of the poor, the rural dwellers. Some of the pictures clearly shows where these people live and you will know that it has not been easy. We really wish we could have enough support to do more for them and others in that category.”

INN had earlier reported that the group had distributed relief materials to three urban areas in Ekiti state in Ado Ekiti Local Government, Ikere Local Government and Oye Local Government in it’s last publication but this time the group took it’s noble gesture down to rural areas to the downtrodden.

The areas in Ikole Local Government the group had visited to distribute the relief packages were Ayedun-Ekiti, Ayebode-Ekiti, Ijesa Isu-Ekiti, Odo-Oro Ekiti, Asin Ekiti.

INN gathers that about 28 persons with disabilities have benefitted from the palliative delivered to their doorsteps.

The relief items distributed so far include rice, garri, semovita, salt, indomie and tissue papers.

INN learn that the beneficiaries were surprised on seeing the group, especially with the fact that the group brought it down to their doorstep was thrilling for them.

Some couldn’t even hide their feelings that they started shedding tears, while they offered prayers for their benefactors.

While thanking the donors for their donations, Engr Olajide called for more donations to put smile to the faces of persons with disabilities in Ekiti state.

DINABI staff on ground were Olajide Funso (ED), Ibitoye Gbenga, Bankole Gbemisola. Others on the entourage were the chairperson of JONAPWD in Ikole LG, Mrs Dayo Olubiyo and her husband.
