Over 100 families of Persons With Disabilities in Ikorodu were excited to have been included in the food drive project embarked upon by Project Enable Africa in collaboration with Ishk Tolaram Foundation.

The Food drive campaign according to Olusola Owonikoko, the Project Director started out in April “We engaged the door to door approach when we realized that it will be difficult for person with disabilities to come during the lockdown”

“Immediately the lockdown was partially lifted, we went into a partnership with Ishk Tolaram Foundation, makers of Indomine noodles, Hypo and other household utensils, and with this collaboration, we have been able to reach out to over 400 families in different parts of Lagos”

“Residents of Ikorodu who got information that we have been to Amukoko, in Olodi Apapa, Badagry, Surulere, Oshodi, and many other parts of Lagos, were almost losing their cool, our inbox was inundated with a request asking when we will be in Ikorodu, we are excited that we are here today and they are also excited to receive the food packs which contains, rice, beans, garri, tomato paste, vegetable oil, spaghetti, sanitizers, nose mask, money and a few other personal hygiene materials.”

Owonikoko explained that “collaborations are the way to go! And we look forward to many of such collaboration to increase development outcomes for Persons with disabilities in our communities.”

One of the food drive beneficiaries, Mrs Bola, who reside in Igbogbo while talking to newsmen said “I am very happy that Project Enable Africa eventually came to Ikorodou today, I have called their office line a few times to know when they will be coming and I have also sent messages to their Whatsapp number, including their Facebook inbox too. We are also excited because their food pack contains quite a number of food essentials and other useful materials, we pray that God will continue to enlarge Project Enable Africa and Ishk Tolaram Foundation”.
