Voice for Inclusion on Tuesday organized the final meeting of a week-long peer hearing programme known as National Dialogue Nigeria for three organizations, Centre for Citizen with Disabilities (CCD), Dew Drop Foundation (DDF) and Women Health and Equal Right Initiative (WHER) to equip them for a contest for grant in the Netherlands where NGOs from four countries, Nigeria, Namibia, Sri-Lanka and Indonesia will contest for grant of five thousand dollar for any proposal/Project that got the nod of the organizers but the overall best proposal/ Project will win the grand price of twenty five thousand dollars to execute the project at the country where the NGO is situated.
The peer hearing meeting was for the three organizations representing Nigeria at the contest to come together to understand their activities and harmonize their ideas to form a common and formidable front in order to bring home the grants which will be of immense benefit to Nigeria.
The three organizations made presentation of their activities for a better understanding of their approaches and there were discussions round ways for better performance, better approaches to adopt for far reaching results and how the organizations can mainstream each other target groups in their activities for example Dew Drop foundation focuses on Inclusion governance for women, Centre for Citizen With Disabilities focuses on disability, Women Health and Equal Right Initiative (WHER) focuses on sexual minority women. The organizations were advised by the resource person to find ways to mainstream these focus groups in their programmes. It will make the proposals better and it will stand a better chance to attract grants.
The organizations are now expected for formulate proposals/projects that will stand tall among others to attract five thousand dollars each for them and also bring home the grand price of twenty-five thousand dollars grant. (Qualitativemagazine)
