The National President of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), Comr. Muhammad Sulaiman Abdulwahab, hosted an interactive engagement with persons with disabilities in commemoration of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
The event brought together students with disabilities from various institutions across Bauchi State, alongside leaders of the Association of Persons with Disabilities, Bauchi State chapter. Discussions centred on strengthening inclusivity and ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
Addressing the gathering, the NUBASS President acknowledged the concerns and challenges faced by students with disabilities. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing their welfare, stressing the need for accessible and conducive learning environments. He also urged stakeholders to intensify support for initiatives that improve the educational experience of persons with disabilities.
The State Public Relations Officer of the Association of Persons with Disabilities expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, applauding the President’s dedication to championing disability inclusion in the state.
The event also featured a dinner with participants, during which the NUBASS President pledged to provide further incentives to support the educational aspirations of students with disabilities.
NUBASS reiterated its resolve to continue prioritizing the rights, interests, and needs of persons with disabilities across the state.
