The United States Embassy, ably represented by Mr Philip-Franz Seitz paid a working visit to the office of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities, JONAPWD, on the 1st of March 2018 in Abuja to explore new areas of partnership with the Association, INN reports.
In a message shared on JONAPWD facebook page, the group announced of a second working visit Mr Philip-Franz Seitz paid to JONAPWD Secretariat in Abuja.
“Banking on the outcome of the first visit to JONAPWD the U.S. Embassy Nigeria has expressed commitment in developing more working relationship with JONAPWD and improving on the lives of Persons with Disability in Nigeria in another follow up visit to JONAPWD Secretariat on the 21st of May 2018”, the group said on its facebook site.
INN gathered that Mr Philip-Franz Seitz, on his part, expressed his Excellency’s desire to see visibility and inclusion of persons with Disability in Nigeria. He assured of the U.S. Embassy Nigeria commitment to creating a working relationship with JONAPWD to ensure its actualization.
Responding, the National President of JONAPWD, Ms Ekaete Judith Umoh, assured the Embassy of JONAPWD’s open door policy to disability based development.
She thanked the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria on its resolve and interest in the development and building a working relationship with JONAPWD and the Disability Community in Nigeria.
