SSAP, Hon. Abba Isa Condoles With Gov. Buni, Yobe People Over Death of Former Gov. Bukar

Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has condoled with Governor Mai Mala Buni and the entire people of the Yobe State over the passing of the State’s former governor, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

Sen. Bukar’s death was announced in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General, Press and Media Affairs to Gov. Buni.

According to the statement, Sen. Bukar died today (Sunday) while receiving treatment for a protracted illness in Saudi Arabia.

Late Bukar, a former governor and former Senator representing Yobe East, died at the age of 75 years.

In a condolence statement signed by his Director, Media and Communications, comrade Lanre Oloyede, the SSA to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Abba Isa , described Sen. Bukar’s death as a painful loss not only to Yobe State but the entire country in general.

As a citizen of Yobe himself, Hon. Abba Isa eulogised the lofty memories of the former governor and the impact of his remarkable transformative achievements on the people and entire landscape of the State.

The Senior Presidential aide to President Tinubu noted that Sen. Bukar will be greatly missed and remembered for his outstanding legacy of remarkable service, dedication, and transformative leadership, particularly to the community of Persons With Disabilities.

The SSAP recounted how the late former governor came to his rescue by completely footing the bill for his entire treatment following a spinal cord injury he sustained after surviving a fatal car accident.

He prayed that the Almighty Allah forgives and have mercy on the soul of the departed leader, grant him peace and solace in the hereafter.

The statement read:

“With a deep sense of sadness, I extend my heartfelt condolences to you and the entire people of Yobe State on the passing of the distinguished former Governor of our beloved State, His Excellency, Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

“The departure of such a visionary leader is a painful loss, and I join you, his families and the people of the State to share in this moment of grief.

“Sen. Bukar will be greatly missed and remembered for his outstanding legacy of remarkable service, dedication, and transformative leadership. His commitment to the people of Yobe State was evident through initiatives such as scholarship programs, which not only empowered individuals but also contributed to the intellectual growth of the State.

“Under Governor Bukar’s stewardship, Yobe State witnessed a commendable surge in infrastructural development. The State underwent a rapid transformation, reflecting his unwavering commitment to improving the living standards of the citizens. This progressive approach has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the landscape of the state.
