The Sokoto state Government has extended the restriction of movement of vehicles into and outside the state by another two weeks to combat possible spread of the covid 19 pandemic to the state.
The commissioner for health Dr Muhammad Ali Inname, said the extension was sequel to a meeting between the Governor, the sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and other stakeholders which reviewed report of the committee set up to prevent spread of the pandemic to the state.
The governor says that the extension would commence from tomorrow Friday by midnight and end on Friday the twenty fourth of this month also by midnight.
He also stressed that the stay and work at home directive given to civil servants on grade levels one to twelve has also been extended up to that period, adding that other workers on essential services were however exempted from such directive.
While commending security agencies in the state for their support towards enforcement of the directive, the Governor cautioned people against forming large gatherings for merry makings.
