PWD Lauds First Bank For Accessible Facilities In Kogi

A person with disability, Yakubu Nazir Abdulhakeem has praised First Bank of Nigeria in Okene, Kogi state for taking the necessary steps to make facilities accessible for Spinal Cord Injury Survivors and wheelchair users.

The survivor said this in a statement after visiting the bank and recording himself proudly making use of the ramp and other accessible facilities provided by the bank.

The wheelchair user hails the bank for their commitment to creating a more inclusive environment for all customers.

“Your commitment to creating a more inclusive environment for all customers is truly commendable and does not go unnoticed.

“By providing wheelchair access and accommodating the needs of individuals with disabilities, you are not only ensuring equal access to your services but also promoting diversity and inclusion within your institution. This thoughtful gesture goes a long way in creating a more welcoming and comfortable experience for all customers, regardless of their physical abilities.

INN reports that the discrimination against persons with disabilities (prohibition) Act provides a five-year transitory period within which every public building must be made accessible to persons with disabilities. The transitory period ended on 16th January, 2024.
