Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, has expressed heartfelt congratulations to Lois Auta-Udonkanta, President and Founder of the Network of Women with Disabilities (NWD), on her recent global appointment.

Auta-Udonkanta has been named one of 12 distinguished global professionals chosen for the Inter-Agency Steering Committee (IASC) Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) Championship Women’s Advisory Group, an honor that followed a competitive selection process with over 300 international experts.

In a statement issued by his Director of Media and Communications, Lanre Oloyede, Hon. Abba Isa lauded Auta-Udonkanta’s incredible advocacy work, recognizing her deep commitment to fighting for the rights of women and persons with disabilities.

He described her appointment as a reflection of her impressive track record and a significant acknowledgment of her leadership in the global arena.

Abba Isa further highlighted that this milestone is not just a personal success but a proud moment for the African continent, as Auta-Udonkanta is the sole African woman with a disability to be appointed to this prestigious role. Her impactful work with both the Network of Women with Disabilities and the Cedarseed Foundation has made significant contributions toward inclusive development and the empowerment of marginalized communities.

“Your selection has not only brought honor to Nigeria and Africa but has also inspired many. We believe your global contribution will drive significant change, elevating the voice of women and persons with disabilities worldwide,” Abba Isa affirmed. “We celebrate your achievements and wish you continued success.”
