The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State for signing the Disability Protection Bill into law and establishing the Gombe State Disability Commission.
Describing the law as a historic milestone, Hon. Abba Isa praised the governor’s commitment to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through inclusive governance.
He also congratulated Dr. Ishiyaku Adamu on his appointment as Executive Secretary of the Disability Commission, acknowledging his advocacy and experience in advancing the rights of PWDs.
“This legislation sets a standard for social justice, and Dr. Ishiyaku’s leadership promises transformative progress for the disability community in Gombe State,” the presidential aide stated.
Hon. Abba Isa urged continued support for the new law and reaffirmed his dedication to promoting inclusion and equity across Nigeria.
