The Youth Section of Abuja Association of the Deaf has celebrated end of year party with lots of fun and merriment.
The event tagged, Networking Hangout and End of Year Party, was hosted by the youth leader of the Abuja Association of the Deaf (AAD), Hon. Jeremiah Umaru who also serves as the Special Assistant on Disability matters to the executive chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) with support from the Deputy Chief of Staff to the AMAC Council Chairman, Hon. David Dara.
The event witnessed varieties of activities ranging from dance performance from the Abuja Deaf Cultural Dance troupe, dancing competition, different kind of games, and goodwill messages from leaders in the Deaf community.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Jeremiah noted with delight the need to come together to network and hangout with other Deaf youths in the capital city as well as work towards further improvements and celebrate the success of the Deaf community through such gatherings.
Jeremiah called on Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to recognise Deaf youths in every opportunity that might arise in the future.
