OSF Offers Scholarship Opportunity to Deaf, Hard of Hearing Students in Tertiary Institutions Across Nigeria

The Opeoluwa Sotonwa Foundation (OSF), a leading non-governmental organization that provides scholarship opportunities to Deaf students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, has announced its 2025 scholarship grant for Deaf students in universities and colleges of education nationwide.

The Foundation, launched in 2023 by its Executive Director, Dr. Opeoluwa Sotonwa, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in Nigerian tertiary institutions, in a statement released on Tuesday.

According to the Foundation, only Deaf and Hard of Hearing students currently in 200 level and above in their respective institutions are eligible to apply.

Other application requirements include:

Admission letter from the institution

Academic transcript or result

Letter of attestation

A two-page personal statement or a 3–5 minute video in sign language

Application deadline: July 30, 2025.

The Foundation also offers the Konyinsola Ajayi Fellowship for students with disabilities in Nigerian tertiary institutions. The Professor Konyinsola Ajayi (SAN) Fellowship is part of the Opeoluwa Sotonwa Foundation’s scholarship program, designed to support outstanding Law students with disabilities in Nigerian universities.

Eligibility criteria for the fellowship include:

Must be a student with a disability (Deaf, Blind, or any other form of disability)

Must be a Law student pursuing an LLB degree

Must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5

Must be indigent

Must be in 200 level or above

Applicants are required to:

Complete the application form (PDF format)

Submit a letter of attestation

Submit academic results from the previous academic year or level

Provide an admission letter from their institution

Submit a two-page written personal statement or a 3–5 minute video in sign language (must clearly indicate they are applying for the Konyinsola Ajayi Fellowship)
