Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has donated three locally made motorised modular fumigators and a large size drone sprinkler to Lagos State government in a bid to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
Presenting the equipment to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House, Marina, the Ooni said the fumigators and sprinklers which were fabricated within his Palace, converts liquid sanitisers to fogs, travels faster and stays longer in the air and could help fight the Coronavirus and other aerosolised viruses.
Describing the items as his own contribution, Oba Ogunwusi encouraged all Nigerians to join hands with government in the fight against COVID-19 and look beyond palliatives by coming up with more local solutions to the pandemic and other challenges confronting the nation.

“We are even looking beyond COVID-19, the truth be told, the world will never be the same again, it is very important for us to know that the day we start looking inward, thinking about what we can do to develop our country and promote our technology, the better for us as a nation” Oba Ogunwusi said.
Appreciating the gesture, Governor Sanwo-Olu, promised that the equipment would be put to good use and commended the Royal father for using his office and the traditional institution positively.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reassured the Ooni of Ife that his administration would not relent in its efforts to grow the local industries even while fighting the current pandemic.
