The executive chairman of Badagry local government, Hon. Onilude Olusegun Adeniran has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the cardinal principle of accessible education and capacity development for Badagrians. The council boss stated this while distributing free GCE forms to Indigent students of the local government on Wednesday.
Hon. Onilude said this is the fifth consecutive year that his administration has been disbursing free GCE forms to senior secondary students in the local government. “We have as an administration make it our priority to give opportunity to every student willing to study the impetus they need. And this is one of our interventions to achieve our aim. In the last 5 years, we have shared over 1,000 forms for students in our bid to make education accessible to as many students as we can. We don’t just give out these forms, we also monitor the performance of the beneficiaries and I can tell you that 90% of the beneficiaries has done creditably well and are in various higher institutions today. With this, I implore this year’s beneficiaries to make the best use of this opportunity by doing well in their examinations”
The Supervisor for education, Hon. Sewede Pot Balogun in her remarks at the event thanked the executive chairman for prioritizing the educational development of Badagrians through procurement of GCE forms among other laudable initiatives his administration has embarked on since inception. “One of the things that has endeared the executive chairman to his people is his love for education and human capacity development. And I want to tell those who have benefited from the free GCE form this year that the best way to encourage the chairman to do more is for them to perform outstandingly in the forthcoming examinations”
Also at the event was the vice-chairman, Hon. Elizabeth Pedetin Kappo; the council-manager, Mr. Asokere Sejuro; the secretary to the local government, Hon. Moses Gbetogo Opa as well as other cabinet members, Heads of departments and units of the council.
