NSDRC Chairman Honoured with Outstanding Disability Rights Advocate Award

Lafia – The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Disability Rights Commission (NSDRC), Mr. Saleh Barde Keana, has been honoured with the Outstanding Disability Rights Advocate Award by the National Association of Special Education Students, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) chapter.

Theaward, presented during a special ceremony on Friday, recognises Mr. Barde-Keana’s tireless advocacy, leadership, and enduring commitment to the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities in Nigeria.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Barde-Keana expressed profound gratitude to the association for the recognition, dedicating the award to the disability community in Nasarawa State and beyond.

“I am deeply honoured by this award. It is a motivation to continue advocating for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities,” he said. “This recognition will spur us to put in even more effort.”

The association commended the NSDRC boss for his contributions to disability rights and inclusive governance, describing him as a role model and a beacon of hope for persons with disabilities.

Mr. Barde-Keana has been widely praised for championing initiatives that promote accessibility, equal opportunity, and empowerment for the disability community across Nasarawa State.
