Nigeria Air Force distributes palliatives in Lagos

As part of activities to mark its 56th Anniversary, the Nigerian Air Force has distributed food items worth millions of Naira to residents of Ewu Shogunle and Shasha communities in Oshodi and Alimosho local governments of Lagos.

Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Lawal Alao, while presenting the food items to the Paramount rulers of the benefiting communities said the gesture by the Air Force was to provide support to its host communities to cushion the effects of the lock-down.

He said the Chief of Air staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar directed a low key celebration of the anniversary due to the COVID-19 pandemic with activities of loyalty and dedication to the nation as well as remembrance of the nation’s fallen heroes.

Responding, the Oba of Ewu land, Oba Shakirudeen Adesina Kuti thanked the Nigerian Air Force for its continuous support, using the opportunity to request that youths of the community be enlisted into the Air Force.

On his part, the Oba of Shasha, Akinlowo I, Oba Babatunde Akanbi commended the kind gesture and prayed to God to put an end to the global pandemic.

The Nigerian Air Force was established on April 22, 1964.

Among Senior officers present at the occasion  were; Chief of staff, Air Vice Marshal Cosmas Ozougwu, Commander 651BSG, Air Comodore Rasak Olarewaju and Commander 041 Communications Depot, Commodore Vincent Aguiyi.
