Dr. James D. Lalu, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has presented the commission’s financial performance for the year 2023 to the house committee on disability. The presentation was marked by prudent management and transparency according to report.
During an oversight visit by the National Assembly Committee on Disability, led by Chairman, Honorable Bashir Dawodu, the committee praised Dr. James D. Lalu, for his outstanding leadership and the Commission’s impressive achievements.
Committee members expressed their admiration for Dr. Lalu’s thorough understanding and management of the Commission’s operations.
Honorable Lanre Okunlola revealed that a motion to enforce accessibility regulations, aiming to generate internal revenue through fines has been presented to the floor of the house, a move supported by the committee as a means to bolster the Commission’s funding.
Having ensured all questions and concerns are addressed, Bashir Dawodu reaffirmed the committee’s support for Dr. Lalu and the Commission, recognizing their significant progress and the critical need for continued support.
