Insecurity: Gombe State Police Command Imposses Six Hour Curfew

In order to curb the ever-increasing spate of insecurity challenges rocking Gombe state in recent time due to the neferous activities of hoodlums in the state, the Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command CP Oqua Etim, has directed all HODs, tactical commanders, and Divisional Police Officers to enforce the movement restrictions across the state from (midnight) 12 am to 6 am.

This measure, INN reports, is necessary to maintain law and order, ensure public safety, and curb the rising cases of criminal activities.

Addressing a team of journalists including INN correspondent on the development, CP Etim who spoke through the force’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar Anipr, said “the government has put restrictions in place to curb these criminal activities and protect the citizens”

Accordig to him, “these restrictions are aimed at ensuring that individuals engaging in criminal activities are brought to justice and ensure that the Kalare and other criminal elements have no place in Gombe state”

The Police chief, also urged members of the public to give their unalloyed support to the police in their effort to wipe out criminals.

His words, ” As such, all residents are advised to cooperate with us and other security agencies and avoid unnecessary movements within the stipulated hours except those on essential services”

“The police command shall work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure strict compliance with this directive. The public is urged to support this effort by reporting any suspicious individual or group seen moving within the restricted hours to the nearest security agency”

He further noted that, “the Gombe State Police Command while assuring the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the state urged them to remain vigilant. Together, we can make Gombe State a safe place for everyone”
