The Chief executive officer and publisher of the Inclusive News Network (INN), Sejoro Ekundayo Peter was last Saturday, 20 July, 2019 honoured with an award of excellency at a 1-Day seminar organised by Voice for the Deaf Foundation (VDF).
The award was bestowed on Mr Sejoro in recognition of his immense contributions in covering wide range on news and related publications bothering on Persons with Disabilities (PwD) on daily basis in Nigeria and across the globe. “This award aims to serve as a motivation to others who are contributing in many ways to the growth and development of the lives of people living with disabilities in Nigeria and Africa, the elated Sejoro said.
Speaking at the event which was targeted at changing the mindset of Deaf people on issue of begging, fraudulent lifestyle and other social vice, the confident Sejoro reminded the gathering at the event that INN was a news outlet conceived and actualized to serve persons with disabilities through advocacy with materials focusing on news and articles on disabilities, inspiring stories on individual with disabilities and many other news relevant to disabilities Community. He said that INN is an online daily News network.
‘INN’ as it is fondly called is borne out of necessity to fill the vacuum left by the media in reporting news that bothers more on all kinds of disabilities and the less privileged. Its mission is to promote abilities in disability through campaigns against barriers and stereotype that tend to limit persons with disabilities and other less privileged.
While charging the audience, he enjoined the participants to be the best they can. Sejoro maintained that disability should not be a barrier for any serious minded person that wish to attain the top. He called on the participants to conquer the spirit of fear and do that very thing they have been passionate about to do.
