A group led by Youth leader of Bauchi state Association of the Deaf (BSAD), Habu Haruna has paid a courtesy visit to the newly re-appointed Executive secretary of Bauchi State Agency for Person with Disabilities, Hon. Brisca Aaron Jerom.
The visit was aimed at seeking more working collaboration and partnership between the Bauchi State Association of the Deaf and the Bauchi State Agency for Persons with Disabilities in order to promote inclusive environment for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the pressing area of empowerment across the state.
Speaking during the visit, Habu Haruna congratulated Brisca Aaron Jerom, saying her reappointment didn’t come as a surprise to the group considering her track records at work and her efforts in ensuring smooth running of the office.
Haruna noted, “In term of employment and empowerment, our members as part of disability community need to be part of the beneficiaries, our people have been left behind without employment and empowerment for more than a decade and we are pledging for more inclusion in allocating employment slots, programmes in areas of youth empowerment etc.
Reacting to the group’s demands, the Executive Secretary, Hon Brisca Aaron Jerom thanked the group for the courtesy visit to her office and assured them of the agency’s readiness to work with them.
Her words, “I assured you that if any share and other benefits for persons with Disabilities in Bauchi come up I will do the best I can to give you slots God willing.
“I will not hesitate until I give it to you once the state government provides the resources to us to give all disability clusters in the state” She said
