As part of its corporate social responsibility and fulfilment of its core values, the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin has donated a brand new wheelchair to one Miss Mulikat Abdullahi, a hairstylist in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, North Central Nigeria.
This is coming on the heels of a promise by the Institute’s Director General, Comrade Issa Aremu, to procure a wheelchair for the beneficiary who distinguished herself during the last skills acquisition training programme organised by the Institute earlier in May, 2024.
Speaking during the handover of the wheelchair to the beneficiary, Comrade Aremu reiterated that the gesture is part of efforts in keeping to the Institute’s core values which are anchored on solidarity, empathy, partnership and inclusivity.
Aremu expressed excitement that the Institute kept to its promise of procuring the wheelchair, adding that the gesture is consistent with the Institute’s commitment to carry along people with disabilities.
He further assured that the Institute under his administration will continue to identify with people with disabilities in all its programmes and activities.
